Scarlet book review

Sacrlet: Book Two of The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THIS BOOK?! I AM DESPERATED> IF Y(OU FIND IT OMG I WILLL LOVE YOU FOrEVER.

Title: Scarlet

Series: The Lunar Chronicles

Number in series: 2

Author: Marissa Meyer

Genre: Young Adult Science Fiction

Plot:
Scarlet Benoit lives on a farm with her Grandmother Michelle Benoit in France.
When Michelle Benoit goes missing Scarlet believes someone has kidnapped her grandmother, but Scarlet doesn't know why.

Meanwhile Cinder, a cyborg fugitive, has escaped prison along with Captain Carswell Thorne, a convicted theif.
As Scarlet and Cinder find out truths that bring them together, their lives are in greater danger than before.

What I liked about this book:

This was a very interesting retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.
It was cool how the author used that fairytale to help the storyline progress.

Like Cinder, the ending was a cliff hanger so I'm looking forward to reading Cress soon.

What I didn't like about this book:

I didn't like this book as much as Cinder. I think that is because I relate to Cinder and Prince Kai more than to Scarlet and Wolf.

There is some content- Mild language, some innuendo, and many scenes contained graphic violence.

My rating: 2.5

  1. I liked this one the best out of the three books, but we all have our preferences. I would have preferred that there had been no language and stuff in it, though.
Look forward to your thoughts on "Cress" if you read it. But I warn you, the ending will make waiting for book four a form of bookworm torture. :-(

Glad to hear 'Cress' is great.
Too bad 'Winter' won't be out for a while. Cliff hangers can be so good and frustrating at the same time:)

I always wonder that too!!! I check to see if my local library has a book before buying it, unless I really, really want a particular book.
